Using Natural Products to Remove Stains

How many times have you placed your child; or yourself for that matter, into a new outfit and immediately dumped something onto it? If you can treat the stain immediately, you have pretty good chances of getting the stain out. However, if this is not possible; you will be able to remove the stain even after it has begun to set in. You can do this with natural products. The same method will work for the stain that is on your carpet fibers.

First and foremost, be prepared to give the mixture to work. You can not apply it and expect immediate disappearance of the stain. You must allow fifteen to thirty minutes for the product to be effective at fighting the stain. At which time, you can begin to remove the stain.

Begin working at the problem as quickly as possible. Start the stain treatment by dabbing the area with a damp cloth to remove as much of the discoloration as possible. Take care not to rub the area with the cloth, you simply want to dab at the area.

Do not utilize heat on the stained area until you are satisfied with the results. Drying the area with heat will cause the stain to set in, pretty much making nearly impossible to get it out.

If you are not at home when the spill occurs, get to the nearest bathroom. Clean food, if any from the area and use caution not to rub the affected area. Next, dab the area with soap, no matter how tempting it may be, do not rub the soap into the fabric. When you return home wash as you normally would.

If you have spilled anything that is red, blot cold water onto the spot until you can treat it properly at home. Here is the natural solution to lift that stain out of the fabric (carpeting as well), mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and cool water. Soak garment or carpet area for approximately thirty minutes. If stain is not completely removed, continue soaking until you are satisfied with results.

A useful laundry tip for whitening without bleach; add half cup or up to a full cup of hydrogen peroxide to the laundry with your detergent. Once the washer fills with water, stop the agitation and allow laundry to soak for at least a half hour. Continue to run as usual, you have naturally whitened the load. For additional freshness, add a quarter cup of baking soda to your final load.

I hope these tips are beneficial to you and that the next time you have a stain occur, you do not allow it to ruin your day. Enjoy caring for your stains without the use of harsh chemicals and toxic fumes; which you have been accustomed to dealing with.
