Homemade Non-Toxic Bathroom Cleaners

It is very easy and simple to make very powerful cleaners for your bathroom. No toxic chemicals necessary, just combine some very simple recipes using basic household items.

Hydrogen peroxide is a very safe sanitizer that you can find right in your own home. It is a very strong germicidal agent and when it attacks organic materials, it breaks down into its base ingredients of oxygen and water.

Take for example what peroxide does to a wound when it is poured onto the site. The bubbling that occurs is the peroxide removing bacteria and viruses. Use a three percent solution in the shower when finished to receive the same benefit.

Spray your bathroom counter tops with peroxide to keep them disinfected. These ideas are just a few you can use for this multi-purpose product. You can clean and disinfect your home without the use of harsh chemicals and cleaners that are full of toxins.

Another article on my site discusses the cleaning uses of vinegar and baking soda. I am going to discuss them a little bit further in this article as well. You can get a good all purpose cleaner, comparable to uses of Formula 409®, by combining one fourth cup baking soda with a half a gallon of water. Once the soda is dissolved, pour in a half cup of vinegar. It can be used to clean, deodorize, and rid your house of germs, and you won't have to put on a pair of gloves, or open any windows to allow for proper ventilation.

Got a hair clogged drain? Pour a half a cup of baking soda into the drain. Add one cup of vinegar to the drain. This will cause a lot of sizzling and bubbling. Do not be alarmed. Wait a few minutes, for the noise to cease, and add a boiling water combined with salt. The clog should be removed, but repeat if necessary.

Time to clean your toilet? No problem for baking soda, yet again. This stuff is awesome! Sprinkle some baking soda into the toilet and let it sit for approximately five minutes. Simply scrub the toilet as you usually would with your brush. For extra hard stains on the toilet, add some white vinegar to the bowl to get it sparkling clean.

Has the tiles in your tub lost their luster; are they a shade of brown rather than white? Mix this up and within no time, they will regain that beautiful white color you once knew. The ingredients are one a one-third cup baking soda, one-half cup liquid soap, one-half cup water, and two tablespoons of vinegar. When you are done with the scrubbing, rinse well with plenty of warm water.

See how much you can do with the items that you have in your kitchen? Many times, these items are just sitting in the pantry, collecting dust until the next injury, the next baked good, or the monthly coffee pot cleaning. Put them to use and rid your home of the nasty toxic cleaners. These items also cost much less than any of the cleaners you currently use and will last much longer. After you combine the cleaners listed here, ensure that you have properly stored and labeled the remainder of the contents. Although they are natural, they should still be kept out of reach of children.
